Our research and development in the Aeronautics and security sector is mainly focused on kinematic systems, which require important advances in modeling/ simulations, advanced manufacturing and systems monitoring.

DEVELOPMENT OF A GEARBOX FOR A FUTURE TURBOPROP – NewGenPAGB

Egile AeroTransmissions has been the Core Partner within the ENGINE ITD with this project. This milestone has seen us become one of the European benchmarks in aeronautical reduction systems. It will also coordinate the project and the consortium, composed of Akira Technologies and Price Induction.

The scope of the project is the design, manufacture, and testing of several prototypes of the gearbox to be installed in a 1100 HP turboprop in the axis. This will involve the design and manufacture of an “ad-hoc” 1 Mw power testing bench. SAFRAN Helicopter Engines will oversee the activities while Egile AeroTransmissions will collaborate in the designs in conjunction with SAFRAN Transmission Systems

Design of Experiments to OPTIMIZE design solutions for a Power reduction Gearbox – optimize

This project led by Egile AeroTransmissions aims to improve the operation of aviation engine gearboxes to reduce pollution and fuel consumption, as well as to lower maintenance costs. The aim of the OPTIMIZE project is to discover the effects of the manufacturing tolerances of the gears on their efficiency during operation in these gearboxes.

This will involve the participation of IK4-TEKNIKER and the European Commission.

MORE ELECTRICAL, SAFER AND RECONFIGURABLE SYSTEMS ORIENTED TO A MORE EFFICIENT AIRPLANE, REDUCING THE PILOT’S LOAD– SELENA – IDI-20150631

This project, led by CESA and within the CIEN Program, involved the development by Egile AeroTransmissions of new methodologies and critical technologies to ensure that the reduction systems are more reliable (redundant lubrication systems), safer (monitoring vibrations and acoustic signals caused by possible component anomalies ), more efficient (using advanced design of gear contacts to anticipate shaft misalignment) and durable (less wear and less vibration).

DEVELOPMENT OF FLEXIBLE AND ADVANCED MANUFACTURING PROCESSES FOR RESPONSIBILITY AND HIGHLY-PERFORMING GEARS– ENNGRANA – PCT-2011-0711-020000

This project involved Egile AeroTransmissions being trained in the manufacture of high performance gears for the aeronautical sector. The support of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness MINECO, through the project ENNGRANA of the national INNPACTO 2011 programme, allowed us to advance our design and integration capacity and implement this initiative in the international market.

This involved the collaboration of one technology centre, CIDETEC, and two universities; UPV / EHU [The University of the Basque Country] and the University of Cartagena

ADAPTATION AND VALIDATION OF TECHNOLOGIES FOR MORE RELIABLE AND ECONOMICAL SMALLER-SCALE AERONAUTICAL TRANSMISSIONS – AEROHUMS – IG-2014/0000782

The consortium of this project, led by Egile AeroTransmissions, aims to apply traditional technologies already used in the aeronautical sector and other more fledgling ones in the SAT (Small Aircraft Transport) niche market. Manufacturing technologies and Health Monitoring must be adapted to this market segment in order to make them viable not only technically but also economically.
